Celebration of Learning: April 25th
On Thursday, April 25th, 2024, Walnut Street School is hosting a Celebration of Learning (student-led conferences) for all our families. All students will have a checklist of items they want to show you and explain their learning. Classroom tours might not take the entire time slot, but we wanted to be proactive about the amount of people in spaces.
In addition to the classroom tours led by your child, there will be a variety of other activities happening throughout the building, including dodgeball, face painting, tattoos, musical performances, book fair, community partnerships, food trucks, and more! Students will receive a passport when they enter the building and will earn a prize if they visit all the areas listed on the passport. We encourage families to stay and hang out at our school throughout the evening on April 25th. Last year, many families stayed the entire time enjoying the festivities!
Food trucks and the book fair will be open for purchase. We will have plenty of chairs available to use for outside mingling and eating. If you want to bring your own picnic and eat at Walnut Street instead of buying food from the food trucks, we encourage you to do so! We have a permit for Walnut Street to be blocked off for families to socialize. Cookies and lemonade will also be provided.
Please reach out to your classroom teacher or the office if you have any questions.
