WSS receives prestigious TCLP award for a second year!

Walnut Street School is the recepient of the US Department of State – Teachers of Critical Languages Program (TCLP) award for the second year in a row. Only 25 school nationwide receive this opportunity. As a recepient, our school will have an experienced teacher from mainland China come to Walnut Street School for the 2012-2013 school year to further support with the teaching and curriculum development of our Mandarin Chinese language and culture program. The award is fully funded by the US Department of State. Our new TCLP exchange teacher is Tian Yuanyuan. Mrs. Tian will be coming to the Des Moines community in early August. If any families are interested in helping to introduce Mrs. Tian to the many events and places around Des Moines, please contact the school office.
