Walnut 5th Graders shine during Exhibition

Walnut Street School 5th graders presented the first PYP Exhibition on Wednesday, May 9, 2012.  Students worked together to create their own unit of inquiry in the Where We Are in Place and Time transdisciplinary theme.

The class crafted the central idea: Humanity learns from the past to take action on the present and the future. 

They explored this central idea through class created lines of inquiry that included: 1. past decisions 2. current actions we can take 3. planning for the future

Students worked together in interest groups to explore different topics such as enviornments, conflict, and poverty through the filter of the central idea and lines of inquiry.  Groups and/or individuals also created a variety of pieces to communicate the information gained through their research.
