At DMPS, we work to ensure that students are receiving a great education in schools that are not only first-rate learning environments, but are also safe and secure. Over the years DMPS has taken many steps to better ensure the safety and well being of our students, staff, parents and visitors. Students brought their families, boxes, tape and a lot of imagination to the Walnut Street School Box Night. Without any kind of direction, they constructed animals, buildings, vehicles and works of art. Principal Rob Burnett said because WSS students come from all over Des Moines, these team building activities are essential to connect their school community.
