Teaching experience:
I began teaching in 2003 in the College Community School District in Cedar Rapids, IA. After moving to the Des Moines area in 2005 and taking a year off to be home with my oldest son, I taught from 2006-2009 in the Urbandale Community School District, after which I took six years off to stay at home with my twins. When the twins started kindergarten in 2015 I was happy to come back to teaching with my position at Walnut Street School.
Family/Hobbies:
I enjoy spending time with my husband, Jason, and our 3 sons, Carter, Max, and Isaac. We like to travel, see movies and shows, take the kids to each other’s music gigs, and play with our dog, Sassy Sue. I also do yoga, play the flute professionally, and maintain a small private flute studio out of my home.
